My Top 5 Feel Good Songs

My Top 5 Feel Good Songs

There is always that song that no matter where you are or what’s going on in your life you automatically feel better by simply listening to it. These, my friends, are my Top 5 Feel Good Songs.

1. Brown Eyed Girl – Van Morrison

The second this song comes on I instinctively grab my phone to text my dad. This, dear reader, is my Daddy/Daughter song. The song we’ll be dancing to at my wedding (unless my dad sneaks in ‘Butterfly Kisses’ without my knowledge or approval.) Despite the fact it’s about a guy and girl ‘”making love in the green grass”, it has a special place in my heart. I’ll forever be my daddy’s brown eyed girl.

Side note: I had never seen the above video before but I find it hilarious how awkward Van Morrison is.

2. Ain’t No Mountain High Enough – Marvin Gaye & Tammy Terrell

HOW COULD YOU NOT LOVE THIS SONG!?! Seriously… if you don’t enjoy this song then we can’t be friends. Does this song even require an explanation? This song is the perfect movie soundtrack song (Ala ‘Remember the Titans’, ‘Stepmom’, etc.).

3. Best of My Love – The Emotions

Can you tell I like oldies yet? I used to choreograph/dance to this song with my sister and cousin growing up. It’s also a classic wedding song. Easy to sing, easy to dance to. What’s not to love?

4. September – Earth, Wind, & Fire

This song is just FUN. It is also a reminder of the disco era, an era that should have never been killed. I bet you’ve seen many a dance floor filled with people jiving and grooving to this song.

5. Bad Moon Rising – Creedence Clearwater Revival

This song always reminds me of going to the lake when I was little. It’s definately a sunny day-windows down-breeze in your face kind of song.

FUN FACT: This band was my dad’s first concert.
